Nigerian schools reopening: Latest on resumption date for wen universities go start as FG tok

 

Di Minister of state for Education, Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba say goment neva give date to reopen universities across di kontri.

Recently, some student bodi bin do I-no go gree waka to di ministry of education for Abuja.

Dem call di goment to open school or face dia anger, but di minister for di daily covid 19 briefing say e get high hope say school go soon resume but no exact date yet.

Oga Nwajiuba say dem don review responses from about 78 universities most of dem private universities and dem say dem don ready to open.

For state owned universities, e explain say na 50 percent of dem dey ready and di ministry dey do everytin possible to make sure everybody dey the same page ahead of school resumption.

Di minister of state also yan give say coronavirus still dey and most of di institution neva establish di necessary protective protocol in place.

Before now, di ministry bin don release di latest guidelines wey school must follow before dem reopen for di kontri.

Na since March authorities close down all schools for di kontri sake of di coronavirus pandemic.

Di latest guidelines wey di Federal Ministry of of Education release come as di Nigerian goment release date for resumption of international flight, open churches and mosque across di kontri as dem ease down some of di lockdown restriction.

Guidelines for schools wen dem don reopen

  • Training of teachers and oda personnel on safety and hygiene measures.
  • Dem must establish Covid-19 referral system
  • Dem must make sure say ambulance dey available and dem must get access to testing/isolation/ treatment centres including NCDC helpline and state goment facilities dem
  • Dem must make sure say dem get water, sensitization and Hygiene (WASH0 for inside di school premises
  • Dem must reduce di number of pipo for dia classroom, hostels worship centres and oda space dem
  • Encourage pipo to use open space for gathering and promote outdoor activities
  • Dem must get committee wey go dey monitor and enforce di Covid-19 guidelines dem

Guidelines for schools before dem go reopen

  • Di guidelines must get different learning option dem for specific learning program wey go make sure say e dey fair for learning
  • Dem must review dia policy, practices, and di danger to use schools for oda purpose dem like distance learning centres, temporary shelters, isolation, quarantine and treatment centres, markets, voting centers, and odas

ELIGIBILITY - PLEASE NOTE:

The Application is Open to Candidate contemplating CBT Based Examination / Screening. Application to Practice Can be carried out as many times as Desired.

METHOD OF APPLICATION


The procedure for the UNIBEN CBT PRACTICE 2020/2021 for first time applicants is as follows:

Candidates are advised to have a valid e-mail account before starting the application process.
  1. Visit www.uniben.edu Click on Student Portal; Select the WAEUP PORTAL.
  2. Click on Applicants and then select UNIBEN CBT PRACTICE 2020/2021
  3. Click on Register for application at the top left of the displayed page to proceed.
  4. Provide all necessary information. Note that * means compulsory fields.
  5. An immediate mail will be sent to the provided e-mail address.
  6. Open your mail to get your system generated ID and Password that you will use to login.
  7. On uniben.waeup.org click on 'Login' (top right of the front page).
  8. Enter your user name and the password from the mail to login.
  9. To start the application process, please click on 'Application record' and provide all required information.

  10. To pay for the Application, click on “Add online payment ticket” at the bottom of the page, then click on “Pay with Remita” on the top left corner of the page, follow the instruction to pay the application fee of N 1,000:00; with a valid ATM-Enabled Card from any Commercial Bank in Nigeria


  11. UPON SUCCESSFUL PAYMENT
  12. After 2 Hours, Candidates are to preceded to Login to THE UNIBEN CBT PRACTICE SITE
  13. Use your applicant_id i.e cbt2020_xxxxxx as username and use the payment_id i.e p350xxxxxxxxxx on your ticket as password.
  14. Click on your category which would be displayed and attempt the quiz
    Three (3) attempts are allowed for this Practice -
    1 to Practice at your Own Pace and 2 others that are Exam Styled (Timed)

  15. CANDIDATES CAN APPLY AS MANY TIMES AS THEY WISH.

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) Admission Screening Exercise for 2020/2021 Academic Session; is scheduled to now take place between 23rd November 2020 and 5th December 2020 in designated centres within the Ugbowo Campus of the University.

The Screening Exercise shall be conducted using the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. All candidates are expected to be seated, latest one hour before the stipulated time for their screening exercise

ELIGIBILITY - PLEASE NOTE:

Candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Only candidates who applied through JAMB for the 2020/2021 UTME Admission and chose the University of Benin as First Choice and scored 200 and above are eligible for this Screening Exercise

    NOTE THAT CANDIDATES AWAITING RESULTS CAN GO AHEAD TO APPLY FOR SCREENING
  • Obtained at least five (5) credit passes at GCE O/L, SSCE, NECO, or their equivalent. The subjects must include English Language, and Mathematics (for courses for which a credit in mathematics is required) as well as three other relevant subjects (four if excluding mathematics); at not more than two sittings.

    Follow the procedure below for first time applicants:

    4. Enter your Surname Exactly as written on the JAMB Registration slip, and JAMB Registration number. Immediately, your ID and Password will be displayed on the browser
    5. Back On uniben.waeup.org click on 'Login' (top right of the front page).
    6. Enter your username and the password to login.
    7. To start the application process, please click on 'Application record' and provide all required information and upload your passport photograph.
    8. To pay for the Application, click on “Add online payment ticket” at the bottom of the page, then click on “Pay with Remita” on the top left corner of the page, follow the instruction to pay the application fee of N 2,000:00; with a valid ATM-Enabled Card from any Commercial Bank in Nigeria
    9. Preview and confirm your information before submitting your application online. (No correction will be accepted after the closing date).
    10. Go back online on the appointed date (16th November2020) to print out the acknowledgement slip that contains your specific screening schedule
